Capital Energy is looking for a growth-oriented Business Development professional to drive customer acquisition and business expansion across our renewable energy portfolio, with a strong focus on C&I Open Access, Captive, and Group Captive solutions. This is a high-impact individual contributor role suited for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and have a strong track record in building customer pipelines, commercial closures, and renewable energy market development.
🔹 Role Overview
The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing renewable energy opportunities across:
• C&I Open Access Solutions
• Captive & Group Captive Models
• Corporate Renewable PPAs
• Solar & Wind EPC Opportunities
• Utility-scale & Distributed IPP Opportunities
The role demands strong market connectivity, commercial acumen, customer engagement capability, and hands-on experience in competitive bidding environments.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of C&I customers across multiple industry segments
• Drive customer acquisition and lead generation for Open Access, Captive, and Group Captive opportunities
• Lead end-to-end business development activities from prospecting to commercial closure
• Identify and develop strategic renewable energy opportunities across C&I, EPC, and IPP segments
• Manage tendering, bidding, and reverse bidding processes for renewable energy projects
• Lead commercial discussions, proposal submissions, and PPA negotiations with customers and stakeholders
• Evaluate market opportunities, regulatory developments, state policies, and competitive dynamics
• Coordinate with internal technical, regulatory, finance, and execution teams to support project conversion • Build relationships with developers, consultants, industrial customers, and ecosystem partners
• Contribute to market expansion initiatives and long-term business growth strategy
🔹 Ideal Profile
• 6–15 years of experience in renewable energy business development across C&I / EPC / IPP segments
• Strong exposure to C&I Open Access, Captive, and Group Captive business models
• Proven experience in customer acquisition and renewable energy pipeline development
• Hands-on experience in tendering, bidding, and reverse auction mechanisms
• Good understanding of state Open Access regulations, power markets, and commercial renewable structures
• Experience in corporate PPA structuring and commercial negotiations preferred
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive opportunities and closures
• Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and business development capabilities
• Comfortable working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment
