Overview
We are looking for a driven and experienced Business Central Technical Consultant to be a core part of our Dynamics 365 practice. In this role, you will be the technical backbone of our delivery engagements, designing and building powerful BC extensions, leading integrations, working with clients and functional colleagues to bring transformative solutions to life. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain customizations and extensions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL language and Visual Studio Code.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions aligned with Microsoft best practices and the AL Extension model.
- Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, and architecture decisions for Business Central implementations.
- Integrate Business Central with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps), Azure services, and third-party applications via APIs and web services.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, solution architects, and customers to ensure technical delivery aligns with business goals and project timelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across development, UAT, and production environments.
- Stay current with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central release waves, new platform capabilities, and evolving Microsoft cloud ecosystem technologies.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, including technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept builds, and solution scoping.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with a strong focus on technical development.
- Proficiency in AL (Application Language) for building extensions; experience with C/AL and CAL-to-AL migration is a plus.
- Solid understanding of Business Central architecture, table structures, pages, codeunits, reports, and APIs.
- Experience developing integrations using Business Central APIs, OData, web services, and Azure integration patterns.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for Business Central - including CI/CD pipelines, AL test automation, and GitHub/Azure DevOps.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under time constraints.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer Associate (MB-820)
- Experience with Power Platform integration - Power Automate flows, Power BI datasets, and custom connectors.
- Exposure to Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, or Azure API Management.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments within Microsoft partner or enterprise settings.
- Knowledge of SQL Server, including query optimization and reporting via SSRS or Power BI Embedded.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing consulting or advisory role.
