Company Background
Karmine is a global boutique management consulting company. Each of the three founders come with over 16 years of Big 4 & boutique consulting business exposure. We have chiselled this entity to be something unique, where our experiences, creativity, and instincts come together. Our goal is to deliver smart, strategic solutions that truly make an impact for small & medium enterprises, through tailor-made solutions and custom IPs.
About the opportunity
As part of our growing AFC practice, we are looking for a Business Analyst to support our PMO operations for technology deployment projects across banking and financial services clients, specifically in the financial crime domain.
The role is open across two levels of seniority (0-3 years and 4-6 years). Core responsibilities are consistent across both; the degree of autonomy, client-facing ownership, and workstream complexity will be calibrated to the candidate's experience.
You will be embedded in live implementation programmes, working alongside our tech partners and their banking clients to keep delivery on track - structured, documented, and outcome-driven.
This is an on-site role, requiring work from client site.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination
- Own or support project planning, milestone tracking, and critical path management across delivery workstreams.
- Identify and manage cross-workstream dependencies, escalating blockers with recommended resolution.
- Coordinate with client stakeholders, tech partners, and internal teams to keep delivery on track.
- Track implementation SLAs and flag deviations to the relevant owners.
Governance and Change Control
- Help establish and maintain governance structures: RACI, escalation frameworks, and decision thresholds.
- Run the change control process - log, track, and route change requests through the approval framework.
- Prepare materials for and support weekly PMO reviews, fortnightly programme reviews, and monthly SteerCo meetings.
- Facilitate working group sessions and client workshops as needed.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain project documentation: RAID logs, status reports, meeting notes, and action trackers.
- Prepare dashboards and progress reports covering milestones, risks, issues, and change request status.
- Manage the central artefact repository, keeping governance records version-controlled and audit-ready.
Testing, Go-Live and Project Closure
- Support the dedicated UAT resource with defect tracking, SIT/UAT coordination, and sign-off documentation.
- Assist in preparing the Go-Live Run Book: cutover checklist, environment validation, and sign-off checkpoints.
- Support handover to BAU, knowledge transfer, and end-of-engagement closure documentation.
Technical Skills:
We are looking for structured, detail-oriented individuals with strong communication and analytical discipline:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Comfort with project tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar).
- Familiarity with UAT and QA processes; experience with defect tracking is a plus.
- Ability to produce clean, well-structured documentation and reporting.
- Basic understanding of system integration concepts and data flows is advantageous.
Functional Skills:
- 0-6 years of experience in a business analysis, project coordination, or consulting support role.
- Engineering and MBA graduates are welcome; an analytical, process-driven mindset matters more than prior domain experience.
- Exposure to banking, fintech, or enterprise technology implementations is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities without losing attention to detail.
- Curious about the financial crime compliance space and willing to develop deep domain knowledge.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building structure where there isn't one.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a close-knit team.
- Strong passion for consulting, ability to adapt in varied environments
- Comfortable travelling at short notice
- A sense of humour
