About the role SarvaGram's Digital Channel is the direct interface between the company and its rural borrowers - the Customer App, WhatsApp communications, and the marketing systems that drive lead generation, customer acquisition, and campaign management. This is the fastest-moving, highest-visibility part of SarvaGram's technology product and the one that rural borrowers interact with directly every day. Senior PM - Digital Channel, SarvaGram's most senior PM, leads the Nexus squad and owns this channel. His stakeholders span Marketing, Operations, and Customer Support - each with its own pace, vocabulary, and set of demands. The Digital Channel BA exists to manage this incoming flow - conducting discovery, writing requirements, mapping user journeys, and delivering structured, ready-to-refine inputs to PM. This is an early-career role with real ownership. You will work directly with Marketing leads on campaign and BRO system requirements, with Operations on WhatsApp agent workflows and customer support processes, and with PM on translating all of this into clean user stories and BRDs. The pace is fast, the iteration cycles are short, and the ability to use AI tools to document and structure requirements quickly is a genuine competitive advantage in this role. Key responsibilities Requirements Discovery & BRD Writing Conduct discovery sessions with Marketing, Operations, and customer-facing teams - convert unstructured inputs into well-framed problem statements before any solution is proposed Write clear, complete BRDs and user stories for Customer App features, WhatsApp flows, and marketing system requirements - structured for PM review and engineering implementation Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) actively for first-draft BRD generation, user story structuring, and documentation formatting - speed and consistency of documentation is a core deliverable of this role Maintain acceptance criteria that are specific enough for QA to test - vague acceptance criteria are rejected; this BA owns the precision of every requirement they write Manage a structured requirements backlog for Nexus squad - prioritised, versioned, and traceable from stakeholder ask to delivered feature Customer Journey & WhatsApp Flow Mapping Map end-to-end customer journeys across the Customer App - loan application, KYC, onboarding, dashboard, repayment, and support flows - identifying drop-off points and friction areas Document WhatsApp conversational flows - message sequences, trigger conditions, agent handoff logic, opt-in/opt-out handling, and notification templates requiring TRAI compliance Map the customer-facing notification ecosystem - what triggers a push notification, SMS, or WhatsApp message; current state, desired state, and the gap between them Produce journey maps and flow diagrams that Marketing, Operations, and Engineering can all work from - single documentation that serves multiple audiences Marketing Systems & Campaign Requirements Work directly with the Marketing team to document requirements for campaign management, lead generation workflows, BRO systems, and customer acquisition tracking Translate marketing campaign logic into technical requirements - audience segmentation rules, trigger conditions, message templates, and conversion tracking needs Document requirements for Command Control and marketing analytics integrations - what data Marketing needs from product systems to measure campaign performance Identify requirements where Marketing and Product interests intersect - personalisation features, in-app banners, referral programmes - ensuring requirements capture both perspectives Product Analytics & Funnel Analysis Analyse app funnel data to validate the business case for requirements - drop-off rates, conversion funnels, feature adoption, and engagement metrics should inform every BRD Pull and interpret basic product analytics from Metabase or equivalent dashboards - answer stakeholder questions with data before raising them as requirements Track post-launch outcomes for delivered features - did the app onboarding improvement actually reduce drop-off? Closing this loop improves future requirements Work with the Analytics squad to define what product events and tracking are needed for new features - data collection requirements included in every BRD Stakeholder Management & PM Support Act as the first point of contact for Marketing and Operations stakeholders on Nexus squad requirements - triage requests, set expectations, and manage communication independently Protect PM bandwidth from raw, unstructured inputs - requirements arrive at the PM pre-validated, pre-structured, and ready for refinement Facilitate requirement walkthroughs and sign-off sessions with stakeholders - own the documentation lifecycle from discovery through to approved BRD Support sprint ceremonies - attend backlog refinement and sprint planning, clarify requirements on the spot, and flag missing acceptance criteria before development begins Requirements Professional experience 2 to 4 years as a Business Analyst in a digital product environment - consumer app, e-commerce, fintech, health tech, or any domain with real end-users and short iteration cycles Experience working with Marketing teams as a stakeholder - understanding campaign logic, lead funnel requirements, and the intersection between marketing and product Hands-on experience writing user stories and BRDs in an agile team - not just documentation for waterfall projects Comfortable reading and interpreting product analytics - does not need to build dashboards but must be able to use them to validate assumptions Fintech or consumer lending app experience is a meaningful plus - not mandatory, but accelerates contribution Mindset & soft skills Fast documenter: Fast documenter: can turn a 45-minute discovery call into a structured BRD draft the same day User empathy: User empathy: thinks about the rural borrower's experience - first-time app users, low digital literacy, variable connectivity Marketing fluency: Marketing fluency: speaks the language of campaigns, funnels, and acquisition AI-native: AI-native: reaches for Claude or ChatGPT before starting a blank document Detail-oriented: Detail-oriented: acceptance criteria are specific, testable, and unambiguous Curious and proactive: Curious and proactive: digs into product analytics without being asked Benefits SarvaGram is on a mission to revolutionize financial services for millions in rural India.
