About The Role-
We are seeking a detail-oriented and business-savvy Business Analyst to support the Material Cost Optimization (MCO) team in analyzing and managing tariff-related cost impacts. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative approach, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that support pricing and margin decisions.
Roles & Responsibilities –
- Analyze vendor-submitted tariff data and cost forms to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and inaccuracies.
- Apply structured assumptions (e.g., dutiable rates and Tariffs Issued by USTR) to estimate tariff impact ranges.
- Collaborate closely with the Merchandising team to model cost implications and margin impacts.
- Recommend negotiation strategies based on tariff increases to support margin goals.
- Summarize findings and present clear, data-driven insights to stakeholders.
Qualifications –
- bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Analytics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in financial Analysis, Retail Analysis or Data Analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Required Skills –
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Experience identifying and driving process improvements.
Preferred Skills-
- Experience in the retail or consumer goods industries is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to independently conduct complex data analysis in Excel, including use of pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic, and scenario modeling.
- Experience working with tariff or trade-related data, with a strong understanding of cost structures and dutiable components.
- Ability to synthesize analytical findings into clear, concise communication tailored for cross-functional teams, especially Merchandising.
- Skilled in preparing talking points, response templates, and negotiation support materials based on data insights.
- Familiarity with U.S. trade regulations, tariff schedules (e.g., HTS codes), and cost modeling
