About The Role
The Lead Business Analyst - Finance at Dr. Martens plc plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering innovative financial solutions aligned with the company's strategic objectives. This position requires a highly experienced, hands-on professional with a deep understanding of finance processes and technology, particularly within the Microsoft D365 ecosystem. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the finance and IT teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and optimization of finance systems, driving automation and operational efficiencies. This role involves managing functional and technical requirements, overseeing system enhancements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting, compliance, and transactional processes. The Lead BA will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing key business decisions through technology-driven insights and solutions.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience supporting finance systems, with substantial expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). A strong background in accounting and financial business processes is essential, complemented by hands-on experience configuring and supporting ERP systems, particularly within global organizations with regional accounting practices. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in developing functional and technical specifications, conducting system audits, and supporting integrations across diverse technologies. Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies, excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and a proactive mindset for process improvement are critical. A relevant degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
Support and develop reliable, efficient technology solutions for the finance function, including third and fourth-line support.
Ensure platforms leverage automation to improve efficiency, maximize ROI, and streamline business processes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with finance stakeholders to foster collaboration and understanding of system capabilities.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies, introducing innovations to enhance system performance and capabilities.
Contribute to the development of governance frameworks, delivery models, and management of finance and transactional data.
Document detailed functional and technical specifications for finance applications and system enhancements.
Conduct audits of existing finance and supply chain systems, providing recommendations for improved deployment and utilization.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team through process design, best practices adoption, and standards implementation.
Advise on optimal solutions for immediate and future business process requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Manage relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring service levels meet organizational expectations.
Engage proactively with finance stakeholders to influence decision-making and conduct operational service reviews.
Ensure comprehensive system process documentation and robust security controls are in place and functioning effectively.
Keep the organization informed of advancements within the Microsoft D365 space, highlighting potential value additions.
Partner with the finance team to maximize the benefits of Microsoft D365, inspiring innovative technology solutions.
Lead the development and execution of future system roadmaps to support the evolving operating model of the finance function.
Analyze business requirements, design tailored technology solutions, and implement these to add measurable value to the organization.
