About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a specialized background in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry and proficiency in SQL. The successful candidate will serve as a vital link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that insurance solutions are accurately captured, analyzed, and implemented. This role involves gathering and documenting detailed business requirements, analyzing existing processes, and supporting data migration initiatives, particularly in policy data. Experience with policy data migration projects, especially within P&C insurance platforms like Duck Creek or Guidewire, will be highly advantageous. The Business Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality solutions that meet regulatory standards and business objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 9+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance domain, specifically P&C insurance.
- At least 5+ years of direct experience working with Policy, Billing, and Claims systems and processes.
- Deep understanding of P&C insurance products, terminology, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL for data analysis, validation, and reporting purposes.
- Experience with Duck Creek or Guidewire Policy and Billing Center or similar insurance platforms is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with policy data migration projects is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration between business users and technical teams.
- Ability to perform gap analysis, process modeling, and solutioning based on industry best practices.
- Knowledge of data governance and regulatory standards applicable to insurance data management.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements, focusing on Billing operations.
- Work closely with data migration and ETL teams to define data mapping, validation rules, and reconciliation procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive data profiling and gap analysis comparing legacy systems with target platforms.
- Support development, testing, and QA teams during design, development, and user acceptance testing phases by clarifying requirements and validating solutions.
- Perform gap analysis between current and future state processes, providing recommendations and solutions aligned with industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Leverage domain expertise in insurance to facilitate effective communication between business and technical teams.
- Track project deliverables, create traceability matrices, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Assist in policy data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during transition processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
