About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry, with a particular focus on policy, billing, and claims systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and proficiency in SQL, capable of working closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and analyze requirements, streamline processes, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality insurance solutions. The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in data migration projects, especially those involving policy data, and will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and data governance standards. Qualifications
- A minimum of 9+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance domain, specifically in P&C insurance.
- At least 5+ years of direct experience working with policy, billing, and claims processing systems and associated processes.
- Deep understanding of P&C insurance products, industry terminology, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL for data analysis, validation, and reporting purposes.
- Experience with insurance platforms like Duck Creek, Guidewire Policy and Billing Center, or similar systems is highly desirable.
- Experience in policy data migration projects, including data mapping, validation, and reconciliation, is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Ability to perform gap analysis, conduct data profiling, and support testing phases including UAT.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business users and product owners to elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements, with an emphasis on billing operations.
- Work closely with data migration and ETL teams to define data mapping, validation rules, and reconciliation procedures to ensure data integrity during migration projects.
- Conduct comprehensive data profiling and gap analysis between legacy systems and target platforms to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Support development, QA, and testing teams throughout the project lifecycle by providing clarifications, validating solutions, and ensuring requirements are met.
- Perform gap analysis between current and future state processes, recommending solutions aligned with industry standards and best practices.
- Ensure all solutions and processes comply with relevant data governance policies and regulatory standards.
- Utilize industry knowledge to facilitate effective communication between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment and understanding.
- Track project deliverables, create traceability matrices, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Participate in policy data migration activities, including planning, execution, and validation to ensure seamless transition and minimal disruption.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within insurance operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
