The primary focus of this role will be on General Ledger (GL), financial accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting requirements. The Senior Business Analyst will analyze existing processes, identify gaps, and facilitate the implementation of new functionalities to support seamless banking operations post-transformation. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future state of banking finance systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services sectors, demonstrating a deep understanding of banking finance and accounting processes. They should have extensive knowledge of General Ledger operations, financial postings, reconciliation procedures, chart of accounts, and accounting rules within core banking systems. Experience working on CFO office or finance transformation initiatives, particularly in core banking upgrade projects, is highly desirable.
Proficiency in creating Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and detailed process documentation is essential. The candidate must have supported User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and finance validation activities, showcasing strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills. Familiarity with banking standards, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CFO office, finance controllers, and accounting teams to gather and document detailed business requirements related to General Ledger and financial accounting modules.
- Analyze the impact of the core banking upgrade on finance processes, including GL postings, accounting entries, reconciliation workflows, and financial reporting structures.
- Define and develop functional requirements, BRDs, and process documentation to support finance-related modules within the new core banking system.
- Ensure accurate mapping of accounting entries from core banking modules to the General Ledger, maintaining consistency and compliance.
- Work closely with technology teams and core banking vendors to translate finance requirements into system configurations, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Support finance teams during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validating accounting outputs and ensuring system readiness for live deployment.
- Assist in aligning the chart of accounts, accounting rules, and posting logic with the new system architecture.
- Identify gaps in financial controls, reconciliation processes, and reporting capabilities during the transformation process, recommending improvements.
- Ensure compliance with banking accounting standards, regulatory reporting requirements, and internal controls throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings between finance, technology, and implementation partners to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
