What would you do? We are currently looking for a suitable candidate with strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes, particularly in Purchase Order (PO) management and Buyer operations. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, in-depth analysis of requirements, and ensuring optimal stock levels to maintain operational continuity and support informed decision-making. The Buyer role focuses on efficient PO management, supplier coordination, issue resolution, and reporting, ensuring on-time delivery, compliance, and operational continuity across the supply chain. - Identify opportunities to optimize planning processes and improve service levels
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across planning operations Supply Chain involves managing the flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers. This role includes planning and coordinating production, transportation, and inventory management. It also involves ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality control. The goal is to optimize the entire supply chain process to meet customer demands and improve organizational efficiency. The flow of tasks involved in the supply chain, such as order fulfilment, procurement, warehousing and transporting. What are we looking for?
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in SQL and/or Power BI for data extraction and analysis
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to interpret complex BOMs and asset data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Background in supply chain, asset management, or engineering (preferred)
- Strong understanding of SCM processes, especially PO lifecycle management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, operational environment with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills Analytical & Decision Support
- Perform root cause analysis and “what-if” analysis for planning issues (e.g., delays, shortages, inventory gaps)
- Analyze and provide insights on: o On-time delivery performance o Inventory optimization o PO performance and exceptions
- Solve moderately complex problems and develop new solutions by leveraging and adapting existing methods Roles and Responsibilities: Purchase Order Management Ensure timely PO ETA confirmations from suppliers and proactively highlight and resolve any delays Manage PO acknowledgement and ensure accurate confirmation of order details Perform ETA validation and tracking to maintain delivery commitments Exception Handling & Issue Resolution Identify and manage PO exceptions, collaborating with planning and sourcing teams to resolve issues such as: MOQ constraints; RDD misalignment; Second source requirements; New MSF requirements Perform PO price validation to ensure accuracy and compliance Logistics & Compliance Management Manage Advanced Shipment Notices (ASN) for shipment tracking Ensure trade approvals compliance, triaging and escalating issues to the Supply Operations Manager (MCIO) Handle logistics-related issues, including escalation to Supply Ops Manager (MMF & SMF) Supplier Coordination & Weekly Reviews Conduct weekly reviews with suppliers covering: Pending unconfirmed Pos; Past due Pos; Upcoming 4-week shipping status; Urgent issues or special cases Maintain strong communication to ensure supplier accountability and performance tracking Reporting & Tracking Prepare and maintain: Weekly Late PO Reports; Past Due Reports; Unconfirmed PO Reports Ensure daily updates of PO status Track and validate PO status using SC DW PULSE or equivalent systems Data Management & Reporting Maintenance Maintain and update: PO tracking reports; Delivery status updates; Operational dashboards Ensure data accuracy and timely reporting for decision-making Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with: Buyer Managers; Supply Operations Managers; Planning and sourcing teams Provide updates, insights, and escalations as needed to ensure smooth operations and alignment
