Position: Junior Accountant

About Us: "My Indian Things", "premium wallpaper and interior design brand" is a premium interior-surface design brand crafting custom wallpapers, murals, PVC panels, and more. We deliver exceptional design solutions across India, focusing on school, commercial, and residential spaces.
The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.
4+ years of experience working with D2C or ecommerce brand
Responsibilities
- Create ad-hoc reports for various business needs
- Prepare tax documents
- Compile and analyze financial statements
- Manage budgeting and forecasting
- Invoicing & Billing:
- Create invoices promptly for all orders, including detailed invoicing for smaller items where required.
- Generate vendor bills immediately after orders are placed and verify quantity and amount on both invoice and bill sides to avoid discrepancies.
- Credit Notes & Adjustments:
- Issue credit notes as needed and ensure all adjustments are accurately reflected in the system.
- Expense Management:
- Record and categorize all office-related expenses, including tools, supplies, and miscellaneous purchases. Ensure invoices are collected and shared with the CA.
- TDS & GST Compliance:
- Accurately calculate and deduct TDS where applicable.
- Ensure GST is appropriately applied and recorded.
- Payment Handling & Gateways:
- Record all payments whether through cash, bank transfers, or payment gateways and ensure proper tracking of gateway fees or percentages deducted.
- Discrepancy Resolution:
- Monitor and communicate any financial discrepancies between bills, invoices, or payments. Report these issues promptly to the team.
- Expense Reporting:
- Provide clear breakdowns of where funds are allocated tracking both income and expenses monthly. Track all categories such as office expenses, tools, or other purchases in an organized manner
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, TDS, and GST.
- Experience with accounting software/tools.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Clear communication skills to report financial findings.
- System Updates & CA Coordination:
- Ensure all financial data is updated in the accounting system. Share necessary documents and invoices with the CA for regulatory filings.
Preferred:
Prior experience in a design, interior, or retail industry is a plus.
Familiarity with high-volume transactional environments

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
