You will interface with owners, facilities managers, and construction project teams to develop and implement a commissioning process that achieves their goals and makes their projects successful. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with facilities, construction, or engineering backgrounds who have experience in Digital Control Systems, Building Automation Systems, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Life Safety, Building Enclosure, Security, Communications, or other Specialty Systems.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe Assistant Commissioning Engineer will perform the following:%26nbsp;%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EExecute commissioning, retro-commissioning and energy related projects.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPlan, schedule, and perform work for small to mid-size projects and support project teams for large projects and programs.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EParticipate in meetings with owner, operation and maintenance, design and construction personnel to understand project goals and schedule to ensure commissioning is properly coordinated.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPrepare commissioning plans, specifications and checklist and functional test documentation based on Burns %26amp; McDonnell standards.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EReview design, equipment submittals, operation and maintenance manual, start-up reports, checklists, and training programs.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPerform site visits to coordinate commissioning, evaluate new and existing systems, witness equipment start-up and testing.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPerform functional testing of highly technical systems. Document commissioning results and performance issues.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECollaborate with owner, operation and maintenance, design and construction personnel in recommending remedial measures.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssist with the development and refinement of methodologies, tools, and standards in support of a growing national and worldwide commissioning practice.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssist with training operation and maintenance personnel to maintain commissioned systems and perform a continuous commissioning program.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAbility to travel up to 25 % of the time as projects dictate.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAll other duties, as assigned.%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited university is preferred, but industry and construction experience will be evaluated.
- Mechanical, electrical and/or enclosure commissioning experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of direct commissioning or related experience in construction and startups of a variety of facility systems and subsystems including building automation system controls, mechanical, electrical, life safety and building envelope systems is preferred.
- Certification in the Commissioning Process, Energy Management, and/or LEED Accreditation a plus.
- Strong soft skills including: facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Highly effective communicator with clear and concise writing and presentation skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Understanding of site safety procedures.
- Understanding and familiarity with energy modeling preferred.
- Experience in ASHRAE level energy audits and development of energy savings calculations from retrofits and energy measures identified during retro-commissioning preferred.
- Experience in combined heat and power/cogeneration, central utility plants, data centers, healthcare facilities, laboratories, water/wastewater facilities, building automation system controls, building envelope, test & balance, NETA electrical testing, renewable energy and other specialties is a plus.
- Successful completion of OSHA 30-hour Safety Training Course is required within the first 3 months.
