Duties
You will conduct law enforcement safety lectures to enforce safe work practices on the job site.,You will serve as a firearms range control officer in the operation of a range program for a Practical Weapons Course (PWC) or Firearms Training System (FATS).,You will propose career development plans (e.g., training requests, utilization proposals) to enhance career or law enforcement employees.,You will collaborate with training facilities (e.g., installation personnel, regional training academy staff) to supplement course instruction.,You will prepare course material to instruct personnel in the field of law enforcement (e.g., law and evidence, terrorist, laws of arrest, search and seizure, basic criminology, accident investigation).
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying law enforcement procedures to instruct on Federal and local laws, traffic laws, established rules, regulations and legal authorities; 2) Preparing instructional methods and theories used in a Police officer's training environment; 3) Instructing investigative procedures, techniques and methods to resolve crimes and other incidents; and 4) Developing course materials and techniques to train law enforcement personnel. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Successful completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement (CSA) prior to travel to the academy.
