Job Title: Managing Editor – Lifestyle Asia India (BurdaLuxury)

About the Role: Lifestyle Asia India is looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Managing Editor to lead the editorial strategy and execution of the brand’s content across digital, social media, and video platforms. This role is pivotal in defining the editorial direction, ensuring high-quality storytelling, and driving engagement in a social and video-first landscape.

The ideal candidate is a highly creative and strategic leader with deep expertise in digital media, lifestyle, and entertainment. They should be adept at shaping innovative content strategies, building relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and industry professionals, and leading a team in a fast-paced, digital-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Editorial Strategy & Content Development
  • Define and execute a compelling editorial vision in alignment with Lifestyle Asia India’s brand identity.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging content across all platforms.
  • Develop and implement a social-first and video-first strategy, optimising content for Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Spearhead the production of short-form and long-form video content, ensuring engaging storytelling and high production value.
  • Ensure all content is aligned with audience insights, trends, and digital best practices.
  • Team Operations
  • Oversee content production workflows, ensuring seamless execution from ideation to publication.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to align content strategies with broader company goals.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and editorial resources efficiently.
  • Social Media & Community Engagement
  • Drive audience growth and engagement by leveraging social media and digital storytelling.
  • Work closely with the social media team to craft platform-specific strategies for audience interaction.
  • Identify viral trends and adapt content strategy to stay ahead of the curve
  • Oversee exclusive subscriber content, ensuring premium offerings that enhance audience loyalty.
  • Video & Multimedia Production
  • Be comfortable appearing on camera for editorial videos, interviews, or digital series.
  • Oversee the end-to-end production of video content, from conceptualisation to final output.
  • Collaborate with videographers, editors, and talent to create high-quality editorial and branded videos.
  • Ensure video content aligns with the brand’s aesthetic, tone, and audience expectations.
  • Industry Networking & Talent Collaboration
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with celebrities, influencers, and industry leaders.
  • Facilitate collaborations with key opinion leaders (KOLs), brand partners, and emerging talents.
  • Represent Lifestyle Asia India at industry events, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
  • Brand & Revenue Growth
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to create editorial initiatives that support brand partnerships and revenue generation.
  • Oversee sponsored content execution, ensuring brand alignments and editorial integrity.
  • Drive audience expansion strategies, including events, newsletters, and membership programs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in digital media, lifestyle, or entertainment journalism, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of social media and video-first content strategies.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, audience analytics, and content distribution.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience in video production, from ideation to execution.
  • Established network within the entertainment, fashion, food, and luxury lifestyle industries.
  • Ability to multitask, lead a team, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable in front of the camera for hosting and digital appearances.
  • Knowledge of CMS platforms (WordPress), video editing software, and social media analytics tools.
  • Passionate about emerging digital trends and evolving storytelling formats.
