Building Envelope and Quantity Take-Off Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Building Envelope and Quantity Take-Off Engineer to join our engineering division in Hyderabad. This strategic role features a dual-portfolio focus, allowing you to act as a vital technical anchor for both international and regional operations.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad for a Building Envelope and Quantity Take-Off professional. The role involves preparing accurate quantity take-offs for building envelope systems, including façade, roofing, cladding, insulation, and related components. Develop highly accurate cost estimates for facility replacement costs and corrective measures. Meticulously document all engineering findings within asset management and cost planning software, collaborating closely with cross-functional global assessment teams.The team member will review drawings, specifications, and models, coordinate with design and engineering teams, and support cost estimation and procurement planning. Daily responsibilities include documenting restoration projects, updating BOQs, identifying discrepancies, and contributing to buildability and optimization reviews. Strong proficiency in researching and applying relevant building codes(National & International), lifecycle standards, and compliance regulations for existing buildings. The role also supports documentation, reporting, and alignment of building envelope quantities with AEC’s Flow Engineering™ and sustainability standards. Perform comprehensive reviews of visual inspections for building assets. Utilize professional judgment to verify the physical condition of foundations, structural systems, exterior envelopes, hardscapes, interior finishes, and conveyance systems. Ensure all reviews conform to specific client standards and evaluate compliance regarding accessibility, fire & life safety, local building codes, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
The Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building envelope, restoration, structural engineering, or forensic consulting, combined with proven experience leading teams and growing client accounts. You’ll take ownership and overseeing both technical delivery and commercial growth in international and national projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Facility/Construction Management, or an equivalent technical discipline. NICMAR Advantage
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in building envelope, restoration, facility condition assessments (FCA), structural/facility inspections
- Managing complex building envelope, restoration, forensic and structural projects
- Providing technical oversight from investigation through construction
- Working closely with ownership and executive leadership to grow the team. Supporting expert witness work, technical reports and assignments where required
- Strong proficiency in building envelope analysis, including façade, roofing, cladding, glazing, and insulation systems. Hands-on experience with quantity take-off and BOQ preparation from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and models.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and standards, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with estimation tools, modeling or CAD/BIM software, and basic cost analysis practices.
- Understanding of construction methodologies, buildability principles, and lifecycle performance of building envelope systems.
- Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work to timelines and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design, engineering, and project delivery teams.
