As a
Building Application Engineer at Koch, you will design, deploy, and support Building Management Systems (BMS) and related applications across global sites. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient building automation solutions that optimize building performance, energy efficiency, and user experience.
Our Team
You will be part of a global Facilities Technology and Automation team that enables smart, efficient, and sustainable buildings. The team partners closely with IT, Facilities, Product, and external vendors to deliver scalable building automation solutions across regions.
What You Will Do
- Deliver end-to-end building automation solutions by designing, integrating, and commissioning BMS applications across global facilities.
- Partner with project managers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure solutions meet functional requirements, quality standards, and timelines.
- Serve as a technical expert for deployed systems, ensuring system reliability through proactive support, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Engage directly with clients and facility teams to understand operational needs and translate them into effective automation solutions.
- Drive standardization, documentation, and adoption of best practices to improve scalability, sustainability, and long-term system performance.
- Identify opportunities to enhance building efficiency, safety, and energy performance through emerging technologies and automation strategies.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 3+ years of experience in building automation, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with BMS platforms and protocols such as BACnet and leading automation vendors (e.g., JCI, Schneider, Honeywell).
- Working knowledge of HVAC, lighting, electrical systems, and building infrastructure integration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional and global teams.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale or multi-site building automation deployments.
- Knowledge of energy management, sustainability initiatives, or smart building technologies.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and Windows client/server environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or LEED accreditation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and value creation in technical environments.
