The Village of Matteson is seeking to hire a Building Attendant Manager for the Matteson Community Center (20642 Matteson Ave) and Oakwood Recreation Center (4450 W Oakwood Lane). This position is responsible for planning, budgeting, and scheduling of the maintenance and custodial (janitorial) care of both centers with a strong emphasis on cleanliness standards. This position will supervise all Building Attendants and coordinate and schedule the set-up and takedown of requested furniture, supplies and equipment as needed for various meetings, functions, and events. This position will also work with the Public Works staff in developing procedures for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment within the building and the outside property maintenance.
The desired candidate must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory experience, considerable knowledge in facilities maintenance (custodial/janitorial care) and a working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to recreational facilities maintenance and repair activities. Must have the ability to work well in a team environment. The ability to represent the Village of Matteson with a strong sense of professionalism is required. The minimum starting salary for this position is $58,000 commensurate with experience. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a background check, drug screening and physical at the expense of the Village.
