Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will be the technical backbone of our field operations, leaving a lasting imprint on every project you touch. Working under the guidance of our Project Managers, you will directly influence project schedules and financial health through meticulous submittal coordination and change management. This role is a vital stepping stone for an ambitious engineer looking to master the complexities of general construction.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to plan, develop, and coordinate all onsite construction activities.

  • Expedite the submittal and shop drawing review process to ensure all materials and methods align with the project schedule.

  • Resolve complex drawing interpretation problems and design conflicts through the Request for Information (RFI) process.

  • Manage project financial health by reviewing and negotiating change proposal pricing from subcontractors.

  • Maintain critical project documentation, including "As-Built" drawings, change order logs, and accurate record keeping.

  • Enforce quality control and onsite safety protocols to ensure the project meets Burke’s high standards of excellence.

  • Facilitate comprehensive project closeouts, including the delivery of O&M manuals, warranties, and system demonstrations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience with a Commercial General Contractor.

  • Demonstrated ability to read construction drawings and interpret complex technical terminology.

  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard construction documentation procedures.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills for cross-team coordination.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Possession of a current OSHA 30 certification.

  • Experience with diverse project types including industrial or federal builds.

  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing field priorities and site conditions.
