About the role

ABOUT BRINEWORKS

At Brineworks, we’re building breakthrough technology to produce sustainable CO₂ and H₂ using saltwater—unlocking clean, scalable fuels and carbon removal at a fraction of today’s cost. Our team of engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs is based in Amsterdam and backed by leading climate investors. Our first pilot is underway in the Canary Islands, with a global deployment roadmap ahead.

Our technology enables affordable e-fuel production and permanent carbon dioxide removal—key tools in decarbonizing heavy industry and reversing historical emissions.

We’re a fast-moving, mission-driven startup with operations in Amsterdam and pilots underway in the Canary Islands. Backed by leading climate investors, we’re building a team that wants to solve hard problems with impact.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a sharp, proactive Founders’ Associate to work directly with our co-founders, Gudfinnur and Joe. This is a high-trust, high-visibility role that blends strategic execution with behind-the-scenes coordination. You’ll help keep Brineworks moving by managing our fundraising and sales pipeline, supporting strategic projects, and taking initiative on internal priorities that make the company more effective.

You will be involved in the connective tissue that helps us move fast—from prepping for key meetings, to coordinating pilots, to making sure our communications shine. If you’re curious, organized, and looking for an accelerated crash course in climate innovation, this is your role.

SOME AREAS YOU WILL TAKE PART IN
  • Founder Support & Internal Projects: Jump into one-off projects like market research, grant applications, or event preparation. Provide ad-hoc assistance on business and occasional personal matters to effectively support the founders and other team members.
  • Internal Tools & Systems: Maintain and improve our internal systems (Google Drive, Slack, CRM, etc.)—ensuring everything stays organized, updated, and accessible to the team.
  • Fundraising & Sales Pipeline: Support founders in keeping fundraising and sales pipelines up to date and well-organized. Help schedule meetings, coordinate outreach, and manage data rooms and follow-ups.
  • Investor & Partner Communication: Prepare or polish materials for external conversations—whether it's a presentation, an email, or a briefing document. Make sure key relationships stay active and well-supported.
  • Travel & Logistics: Help plan and book travel and accommodation for founder business trips, site visits, or conferences.
  • Events & Community: Support event planning and execution—whether it’s a partner meeting, investor demo day, or conference appearance.
  • Merch & Gifting: Coordinate sending Brineworks swag or thank-you packages to collaborators, partners, or friends of the company.
  • Social Media: Draft and post company updates or announcements on LinkedIn and other channels.

YOU ARE A GOOD FIT IF YOU ARE/HAVE
  • 1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced startup, consulting, VC, or operational role
  • Exceptional written communication and organization skills
  • Comfortable balancing a mix of tactical tasks and strategic projects
  • Highly self-directed and take pride in being one step ahead
  • Curious about climate, innovation, and startup ecosystems
  • Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate

CHARACTER TRAITS
  • Builder mindset – You like making systems better and helping others work more smoothly
  • Flexible – You’re happy working on different types of tasks week-to-week
  • Detail-oriented – You know the little things matter, especially when it comes to communication
  • Trustworthy – You’ll have access to sensitive information and be at the center of the business
  • Team-oriented – You enjoy supporting others and making your teammates shine

WHAT WE OFFER
  • A front-row seat at one of Europe’s most promising climate hardware startups
  • A meaningful role where your work will directly influence our speed and impact
  • Room to grow—depending your skills and interests, this role can evolve into Chief of Staff, Partnerships Lead, or other paths
  • A collaborative and purpose-driven team that values learning and momentum
  • Competitive compensation and equity, aligned with your experience
