Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Innovation Zone Specialist to lead daily operations within our Innovation Zone. This is a multidisciplinary leadership role that blends technical expertise, education, business support, and facility management.

Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Support
- Provide one-on-one and group guidance on business development, materials, and equipment use
- Respond to client inquiries and build strong professional relationships
- Foster a collaborative and supportive entrepreneurial community
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across multiple workspaces
- Supervise staff, volunteers, and interns
- Implement efficient workflows, safety procedures, and operational systems
- Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and overall facility readiness
Programs & Instruction
- Develop and teach courses on equipment, software, and business topics
- Create clear training pathways for safe and effective equipment use
Technical Oversight
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment and technologies
- Research, acquire, and implement new tools and systems
- Continuously learn and adapt to new equipment and software
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Support marketing initiatives across digital and traditional channels
- Promote the Innovation Zone through events, outreach, and partnerships
- Conduct tours and build relationships with local businesses and organizations
Strategic Growth & Improvement
- Contribute to long-term planning and program development
- Monitor usage, gather feedback, and identify growth opportunities
- Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, and revenue development
Facility & Environment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional workspace
- Improve systems, spaces, and overall user experience
- Promote team morale and enforce safety standards
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new tools and software
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and proactively identify needs
Preferred:
- University-level coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related fields
- Experience with business startups, entrepreneurship, or R&D environments
- 3 years of experience in a makerspace, technical, or hands-on environment

- Eco-solvent printers, vinyl cutters, laser engravers
- FDM & SLA 3D printers
- CNC router, woodshop tools, sewing machines
- Electronics stations, sound booth, photography lab, kitchen equipment
Software Includes:
- 3D slicing software (PreForm, Cura, PrusaSlicer, etc.)
- Fusion 360, Blender, MeshMixer
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.)
- VCarve Pro, Chief Architect, Visual Studio Code
- Various specialized tools for scanning, printing, and media production
Work Environment
- Active, hands-on role requiring standing, lifting, and equipment operation
- Exposure to lab, shop, and commercial kitchen environments
- Requires full-time, on-site presence
