growth, protecting capital efficiency, and strengthening market credibility.
The Head of Construction is responsible for leading Bren’s Projects vertical and shaping the
organization’s execution agenda at an enterprise level. The mandate extends beyond construction
delivery into building a scalable operating model that integrates portfolio planning, execution governance,
commercial performance, organizational capability, customer commitments, and long term business
sustainability.
This role operates as a strategic partner leadership team and carries accountability for translating
business ambition into execution outcomes. The role will drive portfolio performance, influence investment
and development decisions, strengthen operating discipline, and establish the leadership systems
required to support Bren’s next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Leadership & Portfolio Strategy
• Lead and define the strategic direction of the Projects vertical in alignment with organizational priorities
and growth plans
• Translate business objectives into portfolio execution strategies and operating plans
• Drive enterprise decision making across project prioritization, delivery readiness, execution sequencing,
and resource allocation
• Shape long term capability and scale readiness across the function
• Act as the executive sponsor for transformation and operational excellence initiatives
2. Portfolio Performance & Business Outcomes
• Own overall business outcomes across delivery performance, capital deployment, customer
commitments, quality standards, and operational efficiency
• Establish portfolio governance mechanisms and executive review forums
• Drive performance visibility through portfolio insights, forecasting, and decision frameworks
• Balance growth ambitions with disciplined execution and sustainable delivery capacity
• Strengthen portfolio resilience through proactive risk and dependency management
3. Commercial Performance & Capital Stewardship
• Own construction economics across portfolio planning, budget governance, productivity, and capital
utilization
• Drive disciplined investment decisions through execution feasibility and commercial evaluation
• Improve financial predictability and delivery efficiency across projects
• Strengthen governance across contracts, procurement strategy, and portfolio exposure
• Ensure execution decisions support long term business performance
4. Enterprise Delivery Excellence
• Establish a scalable delivery operating model across projects and execution environments
• Institutionalize governance, controls, and performance standards across the vertical
• Drive engineering excellence, quality leadership, and innovation adoption
• Improve execution speed, operational maturity, and customer delivery outcomes
• Build systems that enable repeatability and portfolio scalability
5. Organization Leadership & Capability Building
• Lead and develop a high performing leadership team across projects and delivery functions
• Establish accountability, succession planning, and leadership development mechanisms
• Drive organization design and workforce capability aligned to future growth requirements
• Strengthen cross functional integration across Design, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Customer
Relationship Management, and enabling functions
• Build a culture of ownership, commercial thinking, operational discipline, and continuous improvement
Key Requirements
• 18+ years of progressive leadership experience across real estate, infrastructure, or large scale
development businesses
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise project portfolios with significant capital and operational
complexity
• Proven track record managing business performance alongside execution outcomes
• Strong commercial orientation with exposure to investment decisions, portfolio governance, and capital
productivity
• Experience building operating models and scaling organizations through growth phases
• Ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead through complexity and ambiguity
• Demonstrated success building leadership teams and long term organizational capability
