We're looking for a motivated and curious Data Science Intern to join our growing Data Science team at Breeze Airways.
As a Data Science Intern, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced data scientists on real-world projects that improve our guests' travel experience and drive better decision-making across the organization. You'll gain hands-on experience with data, learn about the airline industry, and contribute to meaningful initiatives across Revenue, Marketing, Operations, and more.
Here's what you'll do
Support the Data Science team by exploring and analyzing data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
Help build, evaluate, and refine predictive models and machine learning algorithms under the guidance of experienced team members
Clean, preprocess, and organize datasets from multiple sources (structured and unstructured)
Assist with creating data visualizations, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
Learn about experimentation and contribute to A/B testing efforts or analysis of pilots and operational trials
Participate in team meetings and cross-functional collaborations to better understand business needs and how data can help
Stay up to date with the latest in data science and machine learning tools and techniques
Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policies in all projects and analyses.
Here's what you'll need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university
Some experience with Python or R for data analysis
Familiarity with tools like pandas, NumPy, tidyverse or scikit-learn
Basic understanding of machine learning concepts such as regression, classification, or clustering
Exposure to SQL and querying databases
Introductory understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design
Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High performance orientation with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Self-starter with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering high-impact results.
