About the Department
The Golf Course Greenskeeper works mainly outside, operating equipment and tools to maintain the golf course and grounds.
Position Duties
Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent
License(s) Required: Valid LA driver's license
Years Relevant Work Experience: 1 year golf course work
Other: Ability to operate course equipment; Knowledge of fertilizing and seeding greens; Knowledge of safe procedures for handling fertilizers, pesticides and related chemicals; Good interpersonal skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Cutting, fertilizing and aerating greens and tees, operating triplex greens mower, slope mower, other related equipment
- Repairing holes and changing damaged flags; raking sand traps
- Watering and top dressing all greens
- Spraying and seeding greens
- Repairing golf course equipment and sprinklers
- Collecting debris, keeping golf courses and facilities clean
Other Qualifications
As assigned within the general parameters of 40 hour week, including weekend work.
