Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Branch Credit Manager role based in Vapi. The Branch Credit Manager will evaluate and underwrite housing finance proposals in line with internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines, ensuring sound portfolio quality. The role involves conducting detailed financial and credit assessments, analyzing customer documents, verifying information through field visits where required, and making credit recommendations or approvals within delegated authority. The Branch Credit Manager will work closely with sales, operations, and risk teams to structure viable proposals, maintain turnaround time benchmarks, and support business growth while managing credit risk. The role also includes regular portfolio monitoring, early warning identification, coordination on collections for high-risk cases, and preparation of periodic credit and risk reports for branch leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong credit domain expertise, including Credit Management and Credit Risk Management, with proven ability to underwrite retail housing finance proposals.
- Robust Analytical Skills and Finance knowledge, with the ability to interpret financial statements, bank statements, income documents, and market data.
- Solid understanding of Credit principles and practices in retail lending, preferably in affordable housing or mortgage finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, or a related field; a relevant professional certification (e.g., credit, banking, or risk) is an advantage.
- Experience in branch-level credit, underwriting, or risk roles in housing finance, NBFCs, or banks, with familiarity with local markets around Vapi.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with sales, operations, and collections teams.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools and credit/loan management systems; ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
