About the role
About the Department
The successful applicant will assist in sampling Lake Erie waters weekly from our research vessel, visiting ten sites per week in Sandusky Bay. The Field Assistant will be measuring water quality parameters and algal community composition with a submersible light meter and a dedicated fluoroprobe system. Water samples will be filtered and extracted for chlorophyll determination by fluorescence spectroscopy.

Position Duties
- Must be available to work a full day of field sampling on the date specified per week

Minimum Qualifications
- Prior college-level coursework in Biology or Environmental Sciences
- Prior experience handling water samples for biological and chemical analysis
- Organized with meticulous work habits
