Assistant Manager/Engineer (Palm Oil Mill)

Key roles and responsibilities:- Operations Management Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the mill, including production processes, maintenance and quality control. Monitor production efficiency and minimize downtime by ensuring timely repairs and servicing of machinery and equipment. Track and ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as oil extraction rate (OER), kernel extraction rate (KER), and throughput. Team Leadership Supervise and mentor mill staff to ensure smooth operations and high team morale. Coordinate and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring all team members adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures. Conduct regular training and performance evaluations for employees. Quality Assurance Ensure all production meets company quality standards and industry requirements, including MSPO/RSPO certification compliance. Implement quality control measures and identify areas for improvement in processes. Safety & Compliance Enforce strict adherence to safety, health and environmental regulations. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications, such as ISO and MSPO/RSPO requirements. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments and emergency drills. Sustainability & Environmental Management Support initiatives to improve sustainability in mill operations, including waste management, energy efficiency and emissions reduction. Monitor and report on environmental impact metrics and compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting & Documentation Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to the Mill Manager. Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, inventory and compliance audits.
