</div><div>· This position will be assigned as a District-Wide position.</div><div>· Perform management oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client, report on contractor regulatory and contract safety compliance on multiple projects sites.</div><div>· Monitor compliance to all current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.</div><div>· Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as developed and updated by BuildLACCD.</div><div>· Monitor adherence to Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements and procedures.</div><div>· Support to the Program Safety Manager, including but not limited to, attending any required meetings, or providing safety reports/analysis as requested.</div><div>· Attend construction meeting with college project team and general contractor. Leading the safety topic (toolbox), report on site observations (Observation Report) and review upcoming construction schedule for hazard preparedness.</div><div>· Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety report for all site visits.</div><div>· Submit weekly Project Health Safety and Environmental Observation Report to College Project Manager.</div><div>· Perform ongoing review, for completion and accuracy, of contractor safety submittals, JHA, MOP, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation and Scaffold Erecting Plans, Confined Space Entry and</div><div>hazard assessment of other high-risk operations.</div><div>· Perform review of contractor submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to Program Safety Manager.</div><div>· Perform and document safety orientation with contractor safety representative.</div><div>· Monitor adherence to zero tolerance and corrective action policy for workers found not in compliance with the Program’s safety policy.</div><div>· Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties throughout the greater Los Angeles area.</div><div>· Ability to work in fast-paced environment, establish daily work priorities, and perform oversight at multiple active construction projects.</div><div>· Good written and oral communication skills.<br><br><strong><u>Minimum Required Qualifications:</u></strong>
</div><ul>
<li>10 years' of <strong>commercial construction experience </strong>in the US with a General Contractor</li>
<li>5 years' experience in California with a Contractor or major subcontractor</li>
<li>2 years' experience in construction of educational projects in a campus environment</li>
<li> Strong experience managing field construction teams on multiple projects.</li>
<li>Experience on demolition, renovation, and new construction building projects.</li>
<li> Experience working on OCIP programs.</li>
<li>All certificates and credentials <strong>must be active and current </strong>for consideration. Include a current copy of all certifications in resume package for verification.</li>
<li>Hold a valid <strong>Safety Management Specialist (SMS) </strong>certificate or <strong>Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) </strong>issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or <strong>Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) </strong>certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) - (include copy of certificate in resume package)</li>
<li>Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification - include copy in resume package for verification.</li>
<li> Experience on modernization/renovation projects involving abatement, remediation of hazardous materials, hazardous material waste removal and handling, such as asbestos and lead based paint.</li>
<li>Strong experience working senior management and field teams on large building programs across multiple sites and locations.</li>
<li>Experience participating in scheduled construction Meetings with Contractors and Project Managers.</li>
<li>Strong experience in safety incident reporting and daily construction reporting for multiple projects.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate with Owner's Construction Management staff and Contractor's Site Management Team.</li>
<li>Ability to manage, control, and report safety incidents in a timely manner in accordance with OSHA regulations and Owner's Requirements</li>
<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and other basic software programs used in Construction.</li>
</ul><div><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></strong></div><ul>
<li>Construction management, safety management, safety engineer or related degree is preferred</li>
<li>Additional safety/health certifications and credentials as appropriate for this position</li>
<li>Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER</li>
<li>Current OSHA 500 (Trainer in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry) - (include copy of certificate in resume package)</li>
