Role Description The Bookkeeper role at Syntra Orbit is a full-time remote position responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for client organizations. Day-to-day tasks include recording transactions, posting journal entries, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. The Bookkeeper will use accounting software to manage ledgers, track accounts payable and receivable, and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities. This role also includes assisting with documentation for tax and compliance needs, identifying discrepancies, and communicating with internal team members to ensure financial data is complete and reliable. The position requires consistent, detail-oriented work and clear communication in a remote environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong bookkeeping skills, including transaction recording, account reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements, with a solid understanding of basic finance principles.
- Candidates should possess experience with accounting software and related digital tools used for managing financial data.
- Candidates should possess the ability to accurately post and review journal entries (accounting) and support period-end closing processes.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote work setting.
- Relevant education in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Experience in client-facing roles, professional services, or working with multiple businesses is beneficial.
