About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team as an independent contractor. This remote position is ideal for someone with at least one year of bookkeeping experience who is proficient in managing financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and facilitating smooth financial operations across our various departments.
The Bookkeeper will collaborate closely with our finance team, project managers, and other departments to collect and verify financial information, resolve discrepancies, and prepare reports that support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate familiarity with construction or manufacturing accounting, as well as proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory)
- Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting processes
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and basic data analysis
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
Preferred qualifications include experience with invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and familiarity with project-based accounting systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including data entry, invoice processing, and record maintenance
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Maintain precise and current financial records in compliance with company policies
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review
- Ensure adherence to internal accounting procedures and compliance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify financial data for projects and operations
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies or issues related to financial transactions
- Support the finance team during audits and financial reviews as needed
