JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Engineering Supervisor supervises and mentors a team of Quality Engineers ensuring the performance of customer and internal KPI. He / she champions improvements through the use of analysis and implements corrections and improvements using quality tools such as process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones, root cause analysis etc. The Quality Engineering Supervisor will distribute the workload for development and series production programs, including, customer rejection analysis, corrective actions, engineering approvals, planning approvals, procurement approvals, FAI planning, craftsmanship specifications and inspection planning. The Quality Engineering Supervisor will have an in-depth understanding of the company Quality Management System (QMS) and will assist other departments that need help correcting and improving their processes and interfaces with program customers and program focals.

• Champions improvements through the use of analysis and implements corrections and improvements through the use of quality tools.
• Mentor Quality Engineers with their tasks for development and series production programs
• Distribute the Quality Engineering workload for development and series production programs, including, customer rejection analysis, corrective actions, engineering approvals, planning approvals, procurement approvals, FAI planning, craftsmanship specifications and inspection planning.
• Maintain KPIs on Customer performance and Quality Improvement Planning performance.
• Manage the customer service feedback system and give corrective and continuous improvement feedback to operations
• Support inspection with technical support
• Ensure that division is properly prepared for internal, customer, and/or third-party audits and ensures audits are properly managed.
• Interface with supply chain department on supplier related issues.
• Provide training to employees on QMS Procedures.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.
Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years in quality assurance or related technical field.
Skills:
• Proficient with office computer software and databases
• Problem Solving expert
• Proficient in collecting data and translating into problem statements
• Knowledge working in MRPs and ERPs (preferred SysPro & UniPoint).
• Knowledge in statistics and probability.
Other:
• May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.
• This position requires approximately up to 10% of Domestic and International travel, including travel which is outside the local area and overnight.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
ASQ Quality Engineering certification desired.
SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION:
Direction is provided for assignments in terms of desired outcome (goals), timing and budget. Work is reviewed or measured in terms of meeting organizational objectives and schedules.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:
Supervises team for adherence to organizational goals, operating policies, and budgetary guidelines. Supervises team performance and is responsible for training and coaching.
PROBLEM SOLVING:
Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
