Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food & Beverage Director of Service to oversee and elevate the dining experience in our 14 Restaurants and Lounges.  The Service Director reports to our Executive Director of F&B and works directly with our Learning and Development, Restaurant Management and associate teams. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of our food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and guest satisfaction.  Must have luxury hotel experience overseeing multiple fine dining outlets and looking for career progression with a growing resort that is still amidst renovating and re-imagining our 350 acres. Experienced in Five Star service, results oriented, and leads with a passion in all restaurants and lounges within their oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Oversee the onboarding and training of all Food & Beverage associate and management new hires.        Coordinate with General Managers on training plans for associates and determine eligibility of all new F&B team members to graduate out of training programs based on service audits.        Determine training plans for all levels of restaurant management and monitor training process for all new hires.   
  • Training and Development: Identify all hourly associate training needs; determine, develop and implement training plans necessary to elevate service levels in all Food and Beverage operations.  
  • Service Excellence: Define and implement service excellence standards and procedures to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional dining experiences. Conduct regular service audits to identify areas of opportunity.  Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and provide coaching and counseling where necessary.
  • Feedback: Monitor service quality and guest feedback, taking proactive measures to continuously improve service levels.        Create action and training plans from Forbes, LQA, Medallia and Member Survey feedback results.  
  • Growth and Development: Assist restaurant managers by providing input on performance reviews for all hourly associates.
  • Management Support: Provide relief as interim GM when vacancies arise to ensure seamless operations and experiences in our Restaurants and Lounges.
  • Interdepartmental Relations: Work closely with the VP of Hospitality Experience and Learning & Development on feedback, standards and training.
  • Member and Guest Relations: Proactively engage with guests to anticipate needs, resolve issues promptly, and exceed expectations. Foster a culture of hospitality and personalized service among staff.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Implement and maintain sanitation and food safety standards to guarantee a safe dining environment for members, guests and staff.

Supportive Functions

In addition to the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time focused on each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of The Boca Raton.

  • Have thorough knowledge of all rating platforms and feedback metrics, including Forbes, LQA, etc.
  • Have working knowledge of all systems and software programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Outlook Express, Teams, Unifocus, SevenRooms, Craftable, Evention, Birchstreet, Medallia, Beekeeper, etc. 
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire Team Members to meet and exceed standards.
  • Assist General Managers in preparation of all Monthly Department Meetings 
  • Attend mandatory meetings including divisional meetings, staff meetings, etc.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Other Duties

  • Assimilate into The Boca Raton Forbes Five Star culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of operations. Demonstrate working knowledge of all service standards.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

 

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations including supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

 

Qualification Standards Education

High School graduate or equivalent required Four-year hospitality degree preferred.

 

Experience

At least five years in a related field required as well as experience in multi-outlet luxury resort.

 

Licenses Or Certificates

Sommelier Certification, Food Service Sanitation certification. Alcohol Service permit (if state required). CPR certification preferred.
