BMC DEVELOPER
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Application Developer (BMC) at Balfour Beatty, you will be responsible for developing and delivering business capabilities within our BMC Platform. This includes working with tools such as BMC Helix Digital Workplace/Digital Workplace Catalog, Remedy ITSM, and Smart IT to support the organisation’s IT service management (ITSM) needs.
Initially, you will handle a large-scale onboarding project, responsible for onboarding multiple processes for one of our business units. Post-project, you will join the wider team, supporting various initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to aid the business's digitisation, improve service management, and positively impact Balfour Beatty's IT services, driving overall growth and success.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Development and Maintenance:
o Develop, configure, and maintain applications within the BMC toolset, including BMC Helix Digital Workplace/Digital Workplace Catalog, Remedy ITSM, and Smart IT.
· Platform Enhancement:
o Work collaboratively with the BMC Team to mature our BMC Platform by implementing and adhering to best practices.
· Problem-Solving:
o Troubleshoot and identify defects and risks quickly, providing effective solutions to business problems.
· Requirement Gathering:
o Gather requirements from business users, make recommendations, and estimate the effort to complete the work.
· Collaboration and Support:
o Collaborate with the BMC SaaS team to resolve issues and ensure the platform’s reliability and performance.
· Documentation:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development and configuration activities to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
KEY SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALITIES
· Experience:
· Up to 5 years of experience in application development.
· Hands-on experience in BMC Remedy application development and development life cycles.
· Experience with ITSM modules such as Incident, Task, Problem, and Change Management in BMC Remedy.
· Experience with BMC Helix Digital Workplace/Digital Workplace Catalog and Smart IT is advantageous.
