About The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Control-M Specialist to manage enterprise workload automation and batch scheduling in a global environment. This role involves end-to-end ownership of Control-M operations, platform administration, and continuous optimization.
The candidate will be part of a Managed Services team providing
L3 support, working closely with global infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Control-M Operations & System Management
- Manage day-to-day Control-M operations including job monitoring, execution, and failure handling
- Perform L3 incident resolution for Control-M-related issues
- Monitor alerts, dashboards, and batch workflows
- Conduct system health checks, backup/restore, and housekeeping activities
- Job Scheduling & Configuration
- Configure and manage batch jobs, workflows, and file transfers (SFTP)
- Collaborate with application teams for job design and scheduling
- Manage job deployment, migration, and change implementation
- Infrastructure & Environment Administration (IaaS)
- Manage Control-M components including servers, agents, host groups, and resources
- Administer user roles and permissions via Active Directory
- Handle SSL certificate implementation and maintenance
- Support patching, upgrades, and downtime activities
- ITSM Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Handle incidents with root cause analysis and resolution
- Coordinate with vendor support for complex issues
- Follow ITSM processes using tools like ServiceNow and Jira
- Upgrades, Performance & Optimization
- Perform Control-M upgrades, fix packs, and patching
- Monitor system performance and optimize workflows
- Drive automation and integration with CI/CD pipelines
- Reporting & Governance
- Generate reports on job performance, SLAs, and KPIs
- Participate in service review meetings
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and operational processes
Required Technical Skills
Control-M Expertise
- Hands-on experience in Control-M administration, scheduling, and automation
- Strong understanding of batch workflows and job dependencies
- Experience with integrations (SAP, Oracle, file transfers)
Systems & Scripting
- Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, AIX
- Scripting: Shell/Bash, PowerShell
- Experience in debugging jobs and log analysis
ITSM & Tools
- ServiceNow (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Jira for request tracking
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Skills
- Experience in other workload automation tools
- Exposure to cloud/IaaS environments
- Knowledge of DR/BCP processes
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work independently in a global environment
- Flexible to support multi-timezone operations
