Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for several HGV Class 2 Drivers for our client in the Swindon area and surroundings. Role Overview: We are seeking several HGV Class 2 Waste Drivers to join our team in Swindon. As a Waste Driver, you will be responsible for the collection of waste and recycling, ensuring high standards are maintained. Key Responsibilities: Drive and maintain allocated vehicles, including vehicle checks, routine maintenance, and cleaning. Assist in loading and unloading and complete associated paperwork. Collect waste from streets/roads as per the schedule, ensuring all waste is collected safely and in compliance with health and safety procedures. Complete and return daily paperwork to the supervisor, reporting any non-collections and reasons. Update in-cab technology with non-collection information. Ensure assisted collections are completed on specified days and update property information. Report any accidents, damage, or near misses to property, persons, vehicles, or containers. Complete tachograph record books and ensure accuracy. Supervise the team and vehicle, demonstrating skills to new starters and temporary workers. Operate vehicle machinery safely and discuss any personal training needs with your supervisor. Maintain high customer care standards, ensuring gates are closed, spillages are cleared, and bins/boxes are returned to their original positions. Be prepared to work outside normal hours, including weekends and bank holidays, with appropriate allowances. Knowledge and Experience: Minimum: Experience driving refuse/recycling vehicles. Current HGV license. Experience completing daily log sheets and tachograph books. Ability to operate electronic ICT systems. Experience in collecting and recycling rubbish. Preferred: NVQ 2 in waste management or equivalent, or the ability to work towards it. Working Environment: Work will be conducted both outside and internally in various weather conditions, including cold, heat, wet, ice, and snow. Hazardous conditions may exist at times. Early morning starts and possible late finishes, working in the dark. Potential Risks: Exposure to needles, aggression, injury, and other unpleasant hazards. Use of PPE and adherence to health and safety protocols. Decision Making: Empowered to make daily decisions within a structured process. Identify different acceptable materials.
