We are looking for a finance reporter based in Mumbai. You are a driven, well-rounded reporter who either has or can quickly build a network of contacts within India's banking and finance industry. You will also work closely with colleagues in regional bureaus and in Bloomberg's global Finance and Investing teams.
Your key focus will be India's financial story, covering how global banks are tackling the India market and its potential growth, as well as the biggest developments at the top local financial firms. You should be on top of financial regulator's actions and their impact on the sector. You will write stories about the changing incentives for financiers, shifting strategies of global banks, the opportunities, risks and stumbles. With India being an active and competitive market for news, you are expected to identify the most interesting yet reliable stories and bring them to light for our audience. We'll also expect you to leverage Bloomberg's global newsroom and multiple platforms -- including video, audio and social media -- to amplify our most impressive work across many formats.

Write deep-dives and narrative pieces that go beyond daily news cycle
Make fast and critical judgement calls to identify the most important stories in coverage Client
Demonstrate a proven ability to network and leverage sources to break exclusive news
Produce stories that resonate with a global audience
Be comfortable working with reporters and editors across the newsroom
Maintain a culture of innovation, and develop new ways to gain the reader's imagination
Promote diversity of thought and representation throughout our coverage
You'll need to have:
At least 3 years of experience in financial journalism
A track record of breaking influential scoops and some level of financial knowledge
Strong writing skills and the ability to produce both this-just-in stories and enterprise
Sound news judgement and a talent for looking beyond the obvious story
Ability to excel in a fast-paced global environment and meet urgent deadlines
Proficiency in both spoken and written English
Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
