Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative BLDC Motor Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, testing, and optimization of Brushless DC (BLDC) motors for high-performance and energy-efficient applications. The role requires strong expertise in electromagnetic design, thermal analysis, and motor control integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop BLDC motors based on application requirements (torque, speed, efficiency, size constraints).
- Perform electromagnetic design and simulations using tools such as ANSYS Maxwell / Motor-CAD / JMAG.
- Optimize motor parameters including:
- Stator & rotor design
- Winding configurations
- Magnet selection
- Slot-pole combinations
- Conduct thermal and structural analysis to ensure reliability and performance.
- Develop and validate motor prototypes, including testing and performance evaluation.
- Work closely with power electronics and control teams for motor-controller integration.
- Improve efficiency, noise reduction, and cost optimization of motor designs.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, drawings, and reports.
- Support manufacturing teams during production and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in BLDC motor design and development.
- Strong understanding of:
- Electromagnetic theory
- Motor design principles
- Power electronics basics
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools:
- ANSYS Maxwell / Motor-CAD / JMAG
- Knowledge of motor control techniques (FOC, PWM, commutation logic).
- Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in EV motors, solar pump motors, or industrial drives.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and motor controllers.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (winding, lamination, assembly).
- Exposure to testing standards and validation procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
