Role Overview:
We are looking for a BlackLine Functional Consultant with a strong finance controllership background, who has hands-on experience in period-end financial close and has subsequently led or participated in multiple BlackLine implementation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional Expertise:
- Manage/support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Strong understanding of account reconciliations, intercompany, journal entries, variance analysis, close task management
BlackLine Implementation:
- Requirements gathering (BRD/FSD)
- Solution design aligned to finance processes
- Configure modules: Account Recs, Transaction Matching, Task Management, Journal Entry
- UAT support, go-live, post-go-live support
Process Transformation:
- Drive continuous close initiatives
- Improve close cycle time, accuracy, audit readiness
Stakeholder Management:
- Work with finance controllers, shared services, IT/ERP teams
Required Skills:
Background:
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance / B.Com
Experience:
- 5–10 years total experience
- 2–5 years controllership / R2R
- 2+ BlackLine implementations
Functional Skills:
- Financial close, ERP (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics)
- Reconciliation and close calendar management
BlackLine Skills:
- Account Recs, Transaction Matching, Task Management
- Data integration and workflows
Soft Skills:
- Communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving
Good to Have:
- Trintech, FloQast, OneStream exposure
- SOX / audit knowledge
Ideal Candidate:
- Started in controllership
- Transitioned to BlackLine implementation
- Strong bridge between finance and technology
