About the role
Develop and maintain full-stack applications that support the VA Design System and Forms Library, ensuring a seamless user experience for Veterans and their families.
Build and optimize React-based front-end components that align with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and VA Design System (VADS) standards.
Implement RESTful APIs and microservices to support scalable and reusable back-end functionality.
Ensure performance, security, and accessibility compliance (Section 508, WCAG 2.2 AA, Mobile Content Accessibility Guidelines - MCAG) across web and mobile platforms.
Work with React, React Native, Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, and PostgreSQL (or similar technologies) to develop scalable solutions.
Maintain and optimize infrastructure on AWS or other cloud environments, ensuring reliability and security.
Collaborate with designers, UX researchers, and other engineers in an agile development environment to continuously improve the VA's digital platforms.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to support a culture of engineering excellence.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
