Biostate AI aims to build a foundational model of biology that can predict the evolution of health and disease. For each subject, Biostate 's neural network will use past multiomic state information to predict future multiomic states, which in turn can be used to classify future disease states. Biostate's ultimate goal is to improve human health span, and proximally can facilitate biopharma drug development through accurate prediction of toxicology in preclinical research.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented AI Research Scientist with expertise in deep learning to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning, with a focus on developing, deploying, and optimizing generative models. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to design innovative AI-driven products and services that meet the needs of our diverse customer base.

Key Responsabilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI models, with a particular focus on deep learning architectures such as Transformers, Graph Neural Networks and Autoencoders.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate AI models into production systems.
• Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning to continuously improve our AI capabilities.
• Optimize and fine-tune deep models for performance, scalability, and robustness.
• Implement machine learning pipelines and workflows to support the deployment and maintenance of AI models in production.
• Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and patterns that can inform model development.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using AI.
• Ensure the ethical use of AI by adhering to best practices in AI governance and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python. 
• Strong familiarity with deep learing frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or Tensorflow
• Hands-on experience with deep learning architectures, including, VAEs, and Transformer models (like e.g., GPT, BERT).
• Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for deploying AI solutions at scale.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for CI/CD in AI/ML pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
