Role: Head – Biosimilars Business (Emerging Markets/ Regulated Markets)

Job Summary:
Our client, a well-established Indian MNC pharmaceutical organization with a growing biosimilars portfolio, is looking to onboard a senior commercial leader to drive its Global and Emerging Markets business. The mandate is strategic in nature and will play a key role in shaping the organization’s next phase of growth across international markets.
The role will work closely with global leadership and will be responsible for expanding market presence, driving business development initiatives, evaluating licensing opportunities, and strengthening commercial partnerships across key geographies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Growth & Market Expansion
- Drive the overall growth agenda for the biosimilars business across emerging markets and regulatory markets.
- Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and priority geographies
- Evaluate market attractiveness, competitive landscape, and expansion potential
- Build long-term market development strategies aligned with organizational priorities
- Commercial Ownership
- Take ownership of regional commercial performance across assigned markets
- Develop market entry, go-to-market, and commercialization strategies
- Work closely with regional partners and distributors to strengthen market presence
- Monitor business performance, market dynamics, pricing environment, and competition
- Licensing & Strategic Partnerships
- Lead discussions around licensing, co-development, and commercialization partnerships
- Evaluate potential partners from strategic and commercial perspectives
- Support transaction discussions, negotiations, and alliance management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders globally
- Portfolio Strategy & Business Planning
- Support portfolio prioritization and expansion plans for international markets
- Partner with cross-functional teams on forecasting, launch planning, and business cases
- Align commercial strategy with regulatory timelines and market requirements
- Identify whitespace opportunities within the biosimilars portfolio
- Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with commercial, regulatory, medical, supply chain, and finance teams
- Drive alignment across internal and external stakeholders across geographies
- Ensure execution discipline and timely delivery on strategic priorities
- Team Leadership
- Build and mentor high-performing commercial teams
- Create a collaborative and entrepreneurial working environment
- Contribute to strengthening the organization’s international biosimilars capability
- Partner with leadership on long-term business scale-up initiatives
Preferred Background
- 15–22+ years of experience within pharmaceuticals, with significant exposure to biosimilars and international business
- Strong experience across Emerging Markets or Regulated Markets
- Prior exposure to business development, licensing, alliances, or commercial strategy roles
- Good understanding of biosimilars commercialization and partner-led business models
- Exposure to regulated markets would be advantageous
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities
- MBA or equivalent business qualification preferred
