Position: Biology Researcher

Type: Hourly contract

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Design upper-undergraduate and graduate-level Biology problems with complete, worked solutions.
• Create challenging tasks that expose reasoning gaps and failure modes in frontier AI models.
• Convert diagram-based or multi-part biology questions into clear, self-contained text-only problems.
• Write rigorous explanations and verify scientific accuracy across all content.
• Evaluate AI-generated biology responses, identify errors, and refine tasks to meet difficulty standards.
• Review biology tasks created by other contributors and improve clarity, correctness, and realism.
• Collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent quality across large task batches.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Biology or a closely related field.
• Strong upper-undergraduate or advanced Biology knowledge.
• Excellent written English with ability to produce precise scientific explanations.
• Experience in teaching, grading, exam writing, or research-driven analytical work.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in terminology and reasoning.
• Ability to translate complex biological pathways, experiments, and regulatory systems into text-only formats.
• Familiarity with at least one domain area such as Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics/Genomics, Biochemistry, Physiology, Ecology, or Systems Biology.
• Interest in AI evaluation and how training data impacts model behavior.
