Position: PhD-Level Bioinformatics Experts
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $60–$85 per hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: Approximately 4 weeks (rolling task assignments)
Role Responsibilities
- Solve complex bioinformatics data analysis problems independently
- Analyze large biological datasets across genomics, transcriptomics, and related domains
- Develop complete analytical workflows using reproducible Jupyter notebooks
- Apply computational reasoning to biological problems in areas such as virology, genomics, and transcriptomics
- Ensure workflows are well-documented, reproducible, and scientifically rigorous
Requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field
- Hands-on experience in at least two areas such as RNA-seq analysis, variant calling, metagenomics, epigenomics (ChIP-seq/methylation), single-cell analysis, or population genetics
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for bioinformatics pipelines
- Experience producing well-documented and reproducible Jupyter notebooks
- Familiarity with command-line bioinformatics tools (e.g., samtools)
- Strong independent problem-solving ability for ambiguous analytical tasks
