Position: PhD-Level Bioinformatics Experts

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $60–$85 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: Approximately 4 weeks (rolling task assignments)

Role Responsibilities

• Solve complex bioinformatics data analysis problems independently
• Analyze large biological datasets across genomics, transcriptomics, and related domains
• Develop complete analytical workflows using reproducible Jupyter notebooks
• Apply computational reasoning to biological problems in areas such as virology, genomics, and transcriptomics
• Ensure workflows are well-documented, reproducible, and scientifically rigorous

Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field
• Hands-on experience in at least two areas such as RNA-seq analysis, variant calling, metagenomics, epigenomics (ChIP-seq/methylation), single-cell analysis, or population genetics
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for bioinformatics pipelines
• Experience producing well-documented and reproducible Jupyter notebooks
• Familiarity with command-line bioinformatics tools (e.g., samtools)
• Strong independent problem-solving ability for ambiguous analytical tasks
