As an MEP BIM Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of electrical systems for diverse projects across the UK, US, and Middle East regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and expertise in relevant software applications.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize technical knowledge and engineering production skills within a BIM environment for project execution.
- Lead a team in the production of BIM models and drawings, coordinating effectively with discipline leads across multiple engineering fields.
- Ensure model delivery adheres to project and company standards, fulfilling clients' Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
- Oversee clash detection and resolution activities to ensure seamless integration of designs.
- Collaborate with lead engineers and other discipline heads for efficient project coordination.
- Support the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans and project delivery strategies.
- Assist clients in managing multi-discipline BIM environments for large or complex projects.
- Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and project status reports.
- Facilitate clash detection and resolution by creating federated models from various discipline models.
- Provide oversight on workflows and proactively address any issues with clients.
- Support engineers in maintaining drawing standards and effectively using BIM software.
- Mentor team members, assist with modeling tasks, and address queries as they arise.
- Ensure the latest model versions are updated and correctly stored in the project management system.
- Develop skills in managing large and complex BIM projects.
- Perform QA/QC checks on technical drawings before submission to the BIM Manager for final review.
- Oversee drawing production, ensuring compliance with company and project standards (e.g., BIM Execution Plan).
- Verify quality requirements in alignment with company systems.
- Provide advanced BIM training on software and processes to the team as needed.
Necessary Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field with over 10 years of experience on UK, US, Middle East and Israel projects.
- Hands-on experience in LOD 500 construction projects, specializing in detailed shop drawings and accurate project documentation.
- Ability to read and understand schematics, technical submittals, drawings, and project specifications.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Experience in setting up and producing Revit models effectively.
- Capacity to ensure sufficient resources and inputs for efficient project delivery.
- Strong planning skills for systematic deliverable management.
- Ability to create service designs that support the development of coordinated models.
- Contribute to the development of technical standards, templates, workflows, and procedures to enhance deliverable quality.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of BIM Standards and ISO 19650 compliance.
