Postdoctoral Researcher Positions

Postdoctoral researcher positions in coding and information theory are available at Bilkent University for an ERC-funded project: TRANCIDS. Duman at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, invites applications for multiple postdoctoral scholar positions. Selected candidates will work on determining the ultimate limits of communication for different insertion/deletion channel models, including DNA storage channels, and developing practical channel coding solutions. Successful candidates must have a strong background in information theory and channel coding, in particular, on LDPC and polar codes. A background in communication theory, optimization, and deep learning is also desirable. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the positions are expected to start on July 1, 2025. The initial appointment will be for one or two years, with a possibility of extension. The salary is highly competitive and includes full benefits, national public health insurance, and private health insurance for the candidate and his/her family. Highly subsidized and fully furnished on-campus housing will also be provided.
