About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled BigCommerce Developer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in developing and customizing BigCommerce stores, including theme modifications, app development, and third-party integrations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative ecommerce projects, enhance store functionalities, and optimize performance for a diverse international clientele. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, marketers, and other developers to create seamless, engaging online shopping experiences that align with business goals.
The position requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, capable of troubleshooting issues, implementing custom functionalities, and staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in BigCommerce development. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have at least two years of professional experience in BigCommerce development, demonstrating a solid understanding of the platform’s architecture and capabilities. Proficiency in BigCommerce’s Stencil framework and Liquid templating language is essential. Hands-on experience with BigCommerce APIs, including REST and GraphQL, is required for seamless integrations. Knowledge of headless commerce solutions and progressive web app (PWA) implementations is preferred but not mandatory.
Candidates should possess familiarity with ecommerce SEO strategies and performance optimization techniques to ensure stores are fast, secure, and user-friendly. Experience working with version control systems like Git and the ability to work effectively within an agile development environment are important. Strong problem-solving skills, independence, and excellent communication abilities are critical for success in this role. Additionally, experience with custom app development using Node.js or PHP will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and customize BigCommerce themes and templates to create engaging and responsive ecommerce websites.
- Build, extend, and optimize BigCommerce applications and integrations using APIs to enhance store functionalities.
- Implement custom features such as checkout modifications, product page enhancements, and dynamic pricing rules to meet client requirements.
- Optimize website performance, security, and responsiveness across various devices and browsers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the BigCommerce platform efficiently.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, marketing teams, and other developers to improve user experience and interface design.
- Integrate third-party tools, including payment gateways, shipping APIs, and CRM systems, to streamline ecommerce operations.
- Maintain clean, well-documented, and scalable codebases to facilitate ongoing support and future enhancements.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in BigCommerce development and ecommerce technology.
