Role Description
This is a full time role of Bid Manager the one who owns the costing and proposal process for incoming research briefs - translating client requirements into accurate, competitive, and well-documented bids. This role sits at the intersection of research design, vendor pricing, and commercial strategy, and is critical to converting opportunities into won business.
Key Responsibilities
- Review incoming RFPs/RFQs for CAPI/CATI studies (both Qualitative and Quantitative) and briefs to understand study scope, methodology, sample requirements, and timelines
- Prepare detailed cost sheets and pricing proposals for quantitative and qualitative studies across domestic and international markets
- Liaise with field vendors, panel providers, and translation/transcription partners to obtain competitive quotes (CATI, qualitative recruitment, offline fieldwork)
- Draft and refine RFQ/RFP communications to vendors, ensuring clear specification of sample criteria, incidence rates, LOI, and quotas
- Build and maintain supplier/vendor cost databases across geographies and methodologies for quick turnaround on future bids
- Coordinate with the project management and client servicing teams to align proposed costs with study feasibility and client budget expectations
- Track win/loss rates on submitted bids and maintain a repository of historical pricing benchmarks
- Support business development by preparing capability decks, cost comparisons, and feasibility notes for prospective clients
- Ensure all bid documentation is accurate, timely, and consistent with company commercial guidelines
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in market research operations, bid/proposal management for CAPI/CATI projects (both Quantitative and Qualitative), or vendor procurement (research industry strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge and understanding of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies and sample costing logic
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel for cost modelling and comparison sheets
- Excellent written communication skills for vendor correspondence and client-facing proposals
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight turnaround times
- Comfortable working with international vendors and clients across different time zones
