About the Role
We are seeking a BI Modernization Program Lead to act as the Lead Solution Architect for a large-scale migration initiative from QlikView to Power BI. This role requires a single accountable leader who will own the end-to-end modernization program as a portfolio-driven initiative, driving the rationalization of existing BI assets, defining the modernization roadmap, and establishing standards, automation frameworks, and validation processes. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in both QlikView and Power BI, experience defining enterprise BI architecture and governance, and a proven track record of leading cross-functional transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Own the end-to-end modernization program as a portfolio-driven initiative.
- Lead rationalization of existing BI assets and define the modernization roadmap.
- Establish standards, automation frameworks, and validation processes for migration.
- Ensure governed Power BI adoption aligned to enterprise standards.
- Drive decommissioning of QlikView assets post successful transition.
- Reduce BI footprint, optimize run cost, and enable scalable analytics.
Technical Architecture & Execution
- Design and implement automated migration frameworks & validation utilities.
- Define enterprise BI architecture, governance, and best practices.
- Provide deep hands-on expertise in QlikView and Power BI for migration planning and execution.
- Leverage strong SQL, DAX, data modeling, and semantic layer design skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transition and adoption.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Engage with senior stakeholders to communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Lead cross-functional modernization or transformation programs.
- Ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards.
Success Metrics
- Reduced BI landscape cost and footprint.
- Governed, scalable, secure Power BI environment.
- Automated migration processes.
- Full decommissioning of QlikView.
Mandatory Skills
- 7–10 years of experience in BI, data analytics, or related fields.
- Deep hands-on experience with both QlikView and Power BI – MANDATORY.
- Experience defining enterprise BI architecture and governance.
- Strong SQL, DAX, data modeling, and semantic layer design skills.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional modernization or transformation programs.
- Ability to build automated migration frameworks & validation utilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid model based in Bangalore.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Knowledge of DataOps, CI/CD for BI, and automated testing.
- Familiarity with data warehousing platforms and ETL/ELT tools.
- Prior experience reducing BI footprint or rationalizing analytics portfolios.
- Experience implementing Power BI governance, RLS, and workspace strategy.
