Summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate court programming and curriculum presentation, along with service and opportunity events for youth clients
Interviews and counsels individuals to assess the needs and suitability of individuals entering the court program
Coordinates social services, crisis intervention services and treatments for participating individuals; refers clients to supplementary organizations or programs
Weekly reporting of client progress, concerns, and achievements in written form
Attends family staffing meetings regarding the placement of youth and attends home visits
Assists and attends with active participation with facilitating weekly case staffing’s
Coordinates with Child Protective Services caseworkers and other service providers involved in assigned cases to develop individualized treatment plan for participating youth
Collects data required for evaluation and reporting requirements
Maintains up to date client records to include electronic entry of drug tests, as well as filing documentation of client progress; conducts follow-up interviews as to the effectiveness of services provided
Reports to a court manager regarding participant non-compliance with treatment plan
Assists court manager in staffing the Management Information System (MIS) team and steering committee and ensures maintenance of accurate records using the MIS
Performs related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Behavioral Science, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience working with, addiction or child abuse services including certification in early childhood development and, which requires participating in a practicum as part of a supervised course of clinical training at an accredited institution of higher learning or a proprietary school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Good knowledge of child protective services; good knowledge of child abuse and neglect laws
Skill to communicate effectively with hostile, abusive or irrational individuals; skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to perform mathematical calculations; ability to adjust to rapidly fluctuating situations; ability to react professionally and safely under potential or actual volatile conditions; ability to operate personal computer; ability to enhance technological skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, defendants and their families, outside agencies, caseworkers and the general public. Proficiency in Excel and Word; ability to develop and maintain variety of spreadsheets to track client and provider information
Must have valid Texas driver’s license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation to conduct business on a daily basis
Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation
Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
