Job Description: Service Technician (Field Service)
Position Overview
The Service Technician is responsible for providing hands-on field service support for MHM Automation equipment in customer facilities. This role focuses on installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and automation systems, while delivering a high standard of customer service. The position operates primarily in the field and supports customers across assigned territories.
Scope of Role (Field Service)
- Perform on-site installation, start-up, and commissioning of automation and materials-handling equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues in the field.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on operation, safety, and basic maintenance.
- Accurately document service activities, time worked, parts used, and job status in company systems.
- Travel extensively to customer sites, including overnight travel as required.
- Represent MHM Automation and Bettcher professionally while working at customer facilities.
- Comply with all safety standards, customer site requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate closely with the After Sales, Engineering, and HR teams to support customer satisfaction and employee compliance.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping, expense reporting, and documentation.
- Uphold company values, ethical standards, and professional conduct expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Field-based role involving frequent travel to customer facilities.
- Work may include weekends, extended hours, and overnight travel depending on customer needs and service schedules.
