Job Summary:
The THC Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing category strategies for regulated cannabis products that drive revenue growth, optimize assortment, and maximize profitability while ensuring full compliance with state and local cannabis regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Own and execute end-to-end category strategy for THC products, including assortment planning, pricing architecture, promotions, launches, and product lifecycle management
- Balance innovation, trends, and compliance requirements across THC formats (e.g., flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates, beverages)
- Analyze sales performance, consumer behavior, potency preferences, and market trends to identify growth and optimization opportunities
- Develop and manage category financial plans, including revenue, margin, velocity, and inventory turn targets
- Partner with compliance and operations teams to ensure all products, promotions, and inventory practices adhere to cannabis regulations
- Support demand planning, forecasting, and replenishment to meet sales goals while minimizing shrink, markdowns, and expirations
- Collaborate with marketing to build compliant promotional calendars, in-store merchandising strategies, and educational campaigns
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5+ years of category management, merchandising, or purchasing experience; cannabis or regulated-industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret POS data, consumer insights, and financial metrics
- Proven vendor negotiation and relationship-management experience
- Familiarity with cannabis compliance, labeling, and promotional restrictions (or ability to learn quickly)
- Proficiency in Excel and category management, POS, or inventory systems
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project-management skills

Base Compensation:
$70k-$85k
